About The Founder

Brenda Lormil Raymond, MSN, FNP-C, is a healthcare leader, Nurse Practitioner, educator, and consultant with more than fifteen years of experience across clinical practice, academic instruction, research, and workforce development. Her work sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, professional identity formation, and transition to practice readiness, helping healthcare professionals and institutions strengthen both people and systems.

The Work Behind VDI

Brenda is the Founder and Principal Consultant of VDI Consulting, a healthcare focused firm that partners with academic institutions and healthcare organizations to design and deliver high impact professional development, leadership programming, and live educational experiences. Through this work, she has facilitated large scale summits, workshops, and cohort-based programs that support workforce readiness, confidence building, and long-term career sustainability.

Brenda currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner in Phase I Oncology Research Center at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. In her role, she provides patient centered care to individuals enrolled in early phase clinical trials while advancing equitable access to research participation. Her clinical background spans inpatient oncology, rehabilitation, home health, and sub acute care, giving her a comprehensive, real world understanding of the challenges faced across the healthcare continuum.

She is also the Founder of the Haitian American Medical Association (HAMA), a nonprofit dedicated to advancing health literacy, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities for future healthcare leaders. Through this work, she has led educational initiatives, interdisciplinary conferences, and community programs that have made a meaningful impact locally and nationally.

Her scholarly work has been featured in national conferences and peer reviewed publications, and her leadership has been recognized through multiple honors, including a City of Boston Healthcare Impact Resolution, the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Equity Award, and the U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce Young Leaders Award.

In 2021, Brenda formally launched VDI Consulting, initially supporting organizations through project based consulting, tailored public speaking, and healthcare focused event planning. As her work expanded, she recognized a deeper need to support not only organizations but also the professionals within them. This realization led to the intentional evolution of VDI into two core areas: consulting and professional development.

Her story reflects a journey from bedside nurse to educator, from nonprofit founder to healthcare consultant, guided by a deep commitment to service, leadership, and growth. Across every role, she is known for creating experiences that are thoughtful, human centered, and grounded in real world insight.

She looks forward to partnering with healthcare leaders, academic institutions, and organizations committed to strengthening their teams, developing future leaders, and building systems that support people to thrive.

In my opinion, VDI is the culmination of Brenda's clinical expertise, leadership skill, lived experience, empathy and pure drive to support a population dealing with language and other access issues, acculturation, and a host of other determinants that would otherwise lead to the worst health outcomes. VDI is involved with our colon cancer screening communication campaign. We are excited about the campaign's ability to improve colon cancer awareness and early detection within the Haitian-Creole speaking neighborhoods in Boston through the involvement of VDI. I look forward to working with Brenda and VDI Consulting for years to come!
